Hello everyone, its been several years since my last official post. Years have gone by, time’s have changed, and the blog lives as a testament to the once exciting and intriguing world of Super Smash Bros Brawl Hacks. Who knew 13 years later, video game streaming and hacking would thrive in novelty fashion, and what was once a skill led by a chosen few, exploded to reach the hands of many talented gamers and software developers. I can only say I feel very privileged to have participated in what appeared to be an era of game modding and stream pioneers. Many of the 2007 era of game modders and hackers have left the scene, including myself, but a wave of new and amazingly talented hackers and artists have arrived. With great power comes great responsibility, as they say. The same holds true for modding. Let’s continue seeing some amazing work from the new era of gamers, without stepping over the boundaries of the developers that brought us some great art and entertainment themselves (unless that boundary is boundarybreak). I have not been completely awol, as you may have bumped into me during online games as either Zeek, midenhall, or most notably, Zeekatron.
If you wish to follow me further, my twitter from eons ago still exists, and I may start to do some random giveaways from time to time: twitter.com/jose_gallardo

The fate of this website is yet to be decided, although a reboot might be for the best. Meaning starting anew, or if it matters, keep it as a monument to the 2007 game hacking era.
Please remain safe during these times. If you can, find ways to help others to the best of your abilities.
p.s all site links are dead. Please do not click on any links on the site, as they will all redirect to ghost sites of previous hosting websites. I am aware of this and will remove them when I get some time. Which is why I wanted to reboot the website and pretty much erase everything.
IMPORTANT BLOG UPDATE! – 07/23/12
Hey, guess what? I am not dead! Well, now to more pressing matters…
The URL Nintendobros.com will be going offline in a few days. More precisely, on July 26, 2012, the URL nintendobros.com will cease to exist. So what does this mean? Nothing bad, really. I just decided it was time to broaden my horizon and get a new URL. The title of “NintendoBros” sounds as if the focus is on Nintendo and only Nintendo, and for a few years, it was. My video game interests shifted a long time ago, so this change is long overdue. So what now you ask? If you have bookmarked this site, then you are going to want to update your bookmarks. The new URL for this site is Midenhall.com. Optionally, you can always use the default wordpress URL – http://www.nintendobros.wordpress.com – since that one will never change. I will try to update the old url links to the new one, such as on Youtube and other sites. Midenhall.com will become the primary URL once nintendobros.com goes offline. That’s all the important stuff. Read on to find out more about the change and other stuff I have been up to.
1. URL Change
First off, why “Midenhall”? Midenhall is a Castle and starting point of the game Dragon Quest II (Dragon Warrior 2 localized). Dragon Quest II is my second best DQ title and one of my favorite games of all time. The Hero himself, Prince of Midenhall (the guy in the middle in image above), is my favorite DQ Hero. Funny thing is, I played the Snes translation, where Midenhall was called Laurasia. I usually always go for the names I originally played with, but in this case, Midenhall gives of a more medieval vibe, which is what lots of RPGs are based on, and yes – I love RPGs. Expect to see lots of Dragon Quest and Monster Hunter amongst other stuff.
2. My Status – Where’s all the Hacking and Modding Stuff?!
I am not actively modding any games, and haven’t been doing so since before my last post on this blog. Am I retired from the hacking scene? I guess you could say that. While I do mod games and make codes every now and then, it’s usually for personal enjoyment, and not enough to warrant sharing, since most of those unreleased mods are very specific to my liking. And if I start on a project, it’s because I will finish it, which I don’t have time for now. I WILL, however, linger around the modding scene for any game or console and post about stuff I find interesting, like how I turned my 3DS into a gamepad and mouse for my Laptop. I also apologize for the missing files of which many were hosted on Megaupload. Unfortunately, many mods were lost due to Megaupload going down, hence, some are lost for good. Others I can still upload, like the New Super Mario bros textures, which again, I apologize for never taking the time to release them. This is all I can think of for this section.
3. Future of
I have plans to start updating the blog regularly once more. Video game news of all kinds, modding, blogging, rants, etc. I appreciate the work the Nintendobros mod team has contributed to the site and will be moving all members to a special dedicated page. Yes, this means the old modding team is over. This will once again turn into a personal blog. Perhaps something more in the future. Who’s up for some Super Mario Bros. X Online?
Tweeted by the DQ_PR. Image from the TGS2011 seems to reveal Diddy Kong, Patty, and Stella, though I wonder if any of them are NPCs. And if you look closely behind Mario’s glove, that square seems to be Bowser Jr.
Satoru Iwata talks about Dragon Quest X during the Square Enix press conference on September 5, 2011. I had requests to upload this particular bit, so here you go. Its all in Japanese, no direct translation yet, sorry guys. But if anyone has any questions about the conference, feel free to comment, and I’ll be glad to answer.
As promised, here is some footage [trailer included] of the live event that happened in Japan on September 5, 2011 9pmPST. I ripped most of the event myself, with the exception of the trailer, which I missed due to internet connection drop. I made sure to make this compilation as High quality as possible, probably the best res out there so far. Since I cannot upload the video to Youtube due to copyright claims (people have uploaded the trailer and it gets removed), I uploaded to Dailymotion. If you don’t have a Dailymotion account to comment on the video, place your thoughts here instead, and like the post while you are at it, if you like it. Enjoy!
Tonight, Square-Enix will announce a new Dragon Quest game on or around 9pm (PST) via Livestream on Ustream.tv. It might possibly be the unveiling of Dragon Quest X, but why would it if the trailer will soon come out in about two weeks or so, with the release of the Dragon Quest 25th Anniversary Collection compilation. If you are as hyped as I am and are interested to find out more, check out their Ustream channel HERE. I’ll be logged in as NintendoBros. See you there!
Dragon Quest meets Mario in this awesome installment!
The E3 trailer for Fortune Street Wii. Being a fan of Mario and Dragon Quest games, I just had to promote this. Enjoy!
“Players become familiar characters from the Nintendo and DRAGON QUEST universes in a board game that challenges them to play the real estate and stock markets wisely to win. Players race around the board trying to accumulate wealth and hit a target value while buying, selling and trading property with friends and family to see who can be the first to cash out. What appears at first to be a simple property-buying board game offers multiple levels of money-maximizing opportunity”
