Hopefully by now many of you are aware of what Nintendo introduced at GDC this past February. If not, hang on to your pants (and wallet), as wi-fi will no longer be an ultimately free service. Nintendo will be starting their first “Pay and Play” online project with Sega’s upcoming “Samba de Amigo“, a maraca dancing game that resembles something like “Dance Revolution”… with your hands. As fun as the trailer seems for this game, it will also be the first to implement a “pay to play” service. What you will need to pay for is still unclear, but I can reassure you that Wi-fi will no longer be the free service we all had fun with. Games that will support the “Pay to Play” service will contain the traditional “Wi-fi” logo (in red) along with the words “pay-to-play” underneath. Purchasing whatever service is provided by “pay and play” is still a mystery, but you will be using Wii Points respectively.
