I think I missed adding the Lighting SmashBall in the video, but its available in the download. Click Here if you need help replacing the SmashBall texture or any item texture in general. The ]EE[ Smashball in the end of the video is a little tribute Ball I decided to make because when ]Syntax Error[ was still alive, I was hoping to use their edited SmashBall; it was then I decided I should delve into texture hacking.
BrawlBox – Get it Here – The guide from here-on will assume you already acquired the latest version of BrawlBox, and that you already have a common3.pac file (aka item pac). If you don’t have a common3.pac item file, download the old NB file here, with pre-set up textures.
Always keep a back-up of your Common3.pac before editing!
Ok, so with the latest version of BrawlBox (previously known as SmashBox), it is now possible to replace Item textures with ease, from within the Common3.pac file itself. From now on, I will release item textures as Pac files, and you (the user) will replace said texture with the one provided. For example, I will release a texture in this post to accompany the guide; the Firefox Smash Ball.
First and foremost, download the Firefox Smash Ball PAC Here. Its not zipped or anything, so its ready to go.

I have some good news, and some… Super Good news.
Good news is, I’ve come up with some new texture hacks, specifically Item hacking. I don’t know why, but I prefer to make custom textures for items than anything else. I’ve been playing Pokemon Card BG2 – The sequel to the Pokemon Trading Card game for Game Boy Color, and it inspired me to make the following. The Firefox, however, was a random idea. …or maybe its because I’m quite annoyed with Firefox for crashing on WordPress from time to time… Whatever the circumstance may be, the figment of my imagination is now tangible, and can now be dealt with accordingly… with a brawl!
What exactly is CODE GREEN? Well, it doesn’t mean anything actually. Except that I’ve made a few new custom textures, and to my surprise, they are all green. Someone suggested a green Mario final smash, so i did it, kinda. Then I was messing with item textures, and for some reason I decided to change the Hammer handle to Green. And yesterday that I woke up, I felt like doing another Final Destination stage TXS, which theme is the Matrix, and sure enough, its Green. I didn’t plan to do lotsa green stuff, but it happened. I also updated the TXS Brawl roster with the Phanto Smash Ball texture, which I placed as a separate link because there can only be one custom Smash Ball for each Common3.pac file. So there are 2 Item PACS up for grabs. One with Zunny, and one with Phanto. You can only HaZ one at a time, so keep a copy of both PAC files for whenever you want to kick Zunny’s or Phanto’s non-existent butts.
So, um, keep reading for previews of the new textures. Duh.
I haven’t put this texture up for download yet. I have to organize my Items PAC, since it became a little messy after I paused texture hacking for a bit. I will be making a single download with 2 Common3 item pacs, and each one will have either the Zunny Smash Ball or the Phanto Smash Ball. That way, you don’t have to bother with all the extraction/insertion stuff. I’m cool like that.
I posted a video instead of random images because it looks way better in action. Take a look.
DOWNLOAD COMING SOON – And Kudos to those who figured out what I had planned through my previous post, Although it was a little too obvious, in my opinion.
Oh yes, I remember when I first played that scary level. The desert stage where you were followed by that dastardly sun, who was always trying to get you. I was around 4-5 years old when I first played that stage, and I always hated that level. I usually handed the controller to my sister, because I was afraid of the Sun (seriously). And here I am, 15 years later, trying to revive this old nemesis. Ah, the irony of life…
So how do I plan to include Zunny (that’s how I call the SMB3 Sun) into Brawl? Well, if you are on the main page and not reading the full article, then click the link below to continue reading the rest of the post! Or if you are reading the entire post already, then good for you ^_^
