BrawlBox – Get it Here – The guide from here-on will assume you already acquired the latest version of BrawlBox, and that you already have a common3.pac file (aka item pac). If you don’t have a common3.pac item file, download the old NB file here, with pre-set up textures.
Always keep a back-up of your Common3.pac before editing!
Ok, so with the latest version of BrawlBox (previously known as SmashBox), it is now possible to replace Item textures with ease, from within the Common3.pac file itself. From now on, I will release item textures as Pac files, and you (the user) will replace said texture with the one provided. For example, I will release a texture in this post to accompany the guide; the Firefox Smash Ball.
First and foremost, download the Firefox Smash Ball PAC Here. Its not zipped or anything, so its ready to go.

The Only guide for custom SD Music you will ever need! …Hopefully.
The File Patcher 3.5 by Phantom Wings works with both Custom Textures and Custom Music. Here, we will be focusing on setting up custom music in Brawl. For a quick guide on setting up custom textures, click here. The reason I did two separate guides for the same code is because I wanted to focus on one thing at a time, so it makes it much easier and faster to set things up.Before proceeding, make sure you already know the following. If you do not know one of the things mentioned below, try searching the net for help. Google and Youtube are your best friends. Remember, all modifications done to your Wii are at your own risk! “Me N0 responsible 4 j00!”
Phantom Wings has released yet another revolutionary update. The latest File Patcher 3.1 can replace even music!
I’ll be making a guide for replacing music files soon. For now, I just updated the Quick Guide for Custom textures with the newest File Patcher code version 3.1
Also, many have been asking for a Track List of all the songs in Brawl. I uploaded a txt file, so you can get a head start on replacing your music.
The Quick Brawl Texture Guide has been updated with the following:
File Replacement v1.3: [Phantom Wings]
- v1.3 – fixed one of the leading causes for the freezing.
- v1.2 – No longer have to wait in the CSS before textures are loaded. Remains untested, so expect at least a bit of freezing maybe.
- v1.1 – Fixed to work for stages.
- v1.0 – Replaces all files read from the disk with any files of the same name on the SD card.
Dynamic SD Loader: v1.1 [Phantom Wings]
- v1.1 – System hooks at startup rather than after the opening.
- v1.0 – Able to load any file from SD card.
Disable Custom Stages v1.1: [Phantom Wings]
- v1.1 – Used to remove the last of the freezing (removes Custom Stages from SSS during texture hacking)
